This book comes fully packed with a lot to unpack. There are 6 kids taken to The Leaving but only 5 come back 11 years ago. When they do the unexpected happened to one of the kids father! Which is like a really wtf moment! You have these other kids trying to figure out bits and pieces of the puzzle on where they all went and why. You have one girl thinking she was taken by aliens because truly she wasn’t the best mother. At the end everything comes together. I was happy to find out exactly what happened but also sad because the truth on what happened to the 6th child took me out. The lies having to cover up over the kids on these kids. I get this person was trying to avoid trauma but it wasn’t on them to take a role. Trying not to saying too much lol in case someone is reading this. Good book.

I really like this book for the most part. The beginning was very much what I expected this book to be, and I enjoyed getting the story form multiple points of view.
However, as they started to remember things, I wish that what they had remembered was used as more of a focal point and more important when it came to the end of the book.
The end seemed a little rushed and not as much of a revelation as I was hoping that it would be.
