Liked it, though I thought the writing could have been more polished in places and a bit tightened up, often several characters will repeat the same sentiment in a scene, in others I felt she could have gone more into main character Lettie Worthington.

But overall she gives a good balanced view of the early days of war, featuring a likeable strong female character in the lead. With its moderated view on slavery, and the changes slowly taking place among slaveholders it reminds some of [b:Andersonville|77239|Andersonville|MacKinlay Kantor|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1388452366s/77239.jpg|74658], so I think people who enjoyed Kantor's novel, will like "Brothers, Blue & Gray" equally well.

Personally the book was fun to read for me because the main event, the end of the Battle of Lexington fell on my birth day - well, a hundred-plus years earlier, but still, I found that a fun bit of history to know.
