More of the same. This story has been told many times in the first 4 installments. Really this series should have ended after City of Glass. The first 3 installments were really fun and the last two have just ruined the whole story for me! #4 was ok and was #5 more of the same. There was no need for book 5. She should have combined this one and the upcoming book into 1 better book.
Clary and Jace's love story is becoming really corny. Simon and Isabelle, please get on with it already.
Overall very disappointing!

60% of the story left a bitter taste in my mouth. Just couldn't wrap my head around what was happening...alliances, couplings, etc.. Toward the end she knocked it out the park, even though it may have felt alittle rushed. What a frickin cliffhanger though!!

OH MY GOD.

I need a minute to catch my breath.
Well, this book is...I don't know if I can find the words to describe it.

But,let's start:

-The cover of the book is great! I love how beautiful and flawless Jace looks and Clary as well.
-I loved the fact that in this book was more romance than it had been in the previous books.
-I completely loved the relationship between Magnus and Alec (please don't count the heartbreaking moment... *cough Cassandra Clare cough*
-Izzy and Simon,I totally loved them!
-Jace...Oh Jace, how can I begin with Jace.I loved him even though his dark side was shown more in this book than his good and all-cute side. However,he was perfect like he was in all the books.I love him to bits..He's one of the fictional characters I've fallen in love with,so I think that this explains how much I love him.
-Maia and Jordan..Their relationship was cute as well.

And the ending,oh my god the ending.Such a cliffhanger! I wasn't ready for this and now it kept me waiting for more ughh. So,Cassie, please release your next book as fast as you can!

This book was so slow in the beginning but it was eventually worth it. Cassandra Clare is so good at writing fight scenes. They are so entertaining and hold the reader’s attention.

Sebastian disgusted me throughout this book. Like why did Cassandra Clare feel the need to make him obsessed with Clary in a romantic way? It just grossed me out. I started to believe that maybe he changed even though I know how the series ends already. The brotherly relationship between Sebastian and Jace was also kind of weird but that’s because of the rune.

Alec and Magnus breaking up broke my heart. They were by far the best couple in the series.

I could honestly care less about Simon, Jordan, and Maia. I think they’re all boring side characters. Simon is a little bit better now that he’s dating Isabelle.

I feel like there were a lot of scenes in this book that could have been taken out. I didn’t like how the point of view changed to every character in the book. I wish it would just stay with the main four characters.

Had a bit of middle-book syndrome, however, the ending got pretty good and I'm excited to read the last book so it gets an extra star from me :p
