3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Cal was my favourite brother in books 1 and 2 and I really thought for the first 300 pages that he had been done dirty in this book!

Up to page 300, the plot felt lacking, the ex and town were insufferable and it was making me dislike the book. Glad I pushed through to the end as I enjoyed Cal’s character development/ redemption and how well addiction was represented. The book also rounded off the series well.

Cami and Cal probably ended up being my two favourite characters of the book.

reviewing my spreadsheet for this book and all i wrote is:
"can a book be both your favorite and least favorite at the same time?"
so. yeah.

cal, our mmc, had some struggles that hit a little close home for me. as someone who, in the past, consistently felt like someone else's addiction was more important than me, and felt pushed aside with regularity because of it, this book was hard to read at times. but cal pushing through it and recognizing his behavior, and working on his relationships with his family and our girl lana made it a fun read too. lana, our badass fmc, keep me in it and rooting for them.

we've got second chance romance, forced proximity, single mom, and enemies to lovers.

per my spreadsheet:
spice 🌶  - a 4 🌶  spicy (romance.io scale)
length - just right
reading speed - read in 4 days
did it make me cry? - oh just about. i think i was a lil enraged during the times i would normally cry lol

Wow! This book was my favorite of the series by far! Even without the romance aspect, the story itself is so powerful and heart wrenching. If it was possible to give it a million stars I would. This series just kept getting better and better as it went along and I honestly feel like the best was saved for last. If you are in the mood for a second chance romance with perfectly written tension, and toe curling spice, that isn’t afraid to deal with heavier topics, then I highly recommend adding this book to your list.

Ugh I loved this book so much just because there was so many deeper themes involved in this book which made it that much more engaging. I think I cried like 6 times throughout this book lol.

Are you a sucker for second chance romances, working on oneself, and respecting the boundaries of others while in a work-in-progress relationship? Do you like wholesome families that are based both on blood and commitment? If the answer is yes, you'll eat this one up!

"Falling in love with yourself is ten times harder than falling in love with someone else, especially when I don't like myself very much."
—Callahan

This book is a solid read that addresses many sensitive topics (
addiction, trust issues, emotionally abusive parents
...) respectfully. The characters are well-rounded and multidimensional, and I'm glad we'll continue to get peeks into their lives even after this Dreamland Billionaires series, since they have cameos as side characters in Asher's newest series Lakefront Billionaires that takes place at the location of this book, Lake Wisteria.
