I really wanted to give this book at least three stars, but I honestly spent the last 40% of the book just skipping through unnecessary text. Nothing really happened for the majority of the book, probably due to the fact it covered about a week in real time. I wouldn't recommend this unless you were really attached to any of the characters, because the plot was really flimsy. The most concrete comment I can make about Gemma and her sister's plans are that they genuinely have no clue what's going on. It's a bit disappointing to be honest.

Also, I just genuinely don't know why people like Harper. She's controlling, judgemental, and nit picky. She's not a bad person, but she's definitely not someone I really care to read about. I pretty much skimmed all the chapters she had with Daniel because while I like him, I couldn't care less if they get together.

wasn't as good as Wake, the first in the trilogy, but the story is good enought that i'll read the third one when it comes out this Spring. Think i mentioned this author's zombie series - the hollows before, but i enjoyed it more than this one.

Okay, so now I have to read the next part to know, what is happening to Daniel.
Okay, got it
But with all seriousness - I'm really enjoying these books and although it's almost 2AM, I want to continue reading as soon as possible.

Lullaby is the second novel in the Watersong series.
Harper is on a restless hung to track down Gemma, with the help of Daniel, Alex and Marcy.
Meanwhile, Gemma is fighting the siren inside of her and growing weaker by the minute.

This novel was a lot more fast paced and in my opinon, a lot more enjoyable!
Character development remains strong.
Loving Harper and Daniel!

After being cursed by Penn, Lexi, and Thea, Gemma runs off with the three girls. As if Gemma really has a choice. If she didn’t leave then her sister, Harper and her boyfriend Alex would be harmed.

Harper will not give up her sister that easy. She, Alex and Daniel are not afraid. They will fight to the bitter end. Harper better hurry as time is time is running out.

I have not had the pleasure of reading Wake the prior book to Lullaby. However, I was able to quickly piece together what happened in the prior book to Gemma. I could feel Gemma’s struggle as she tried to learn how to cope to her new life as a mermaid/siren. I liked seeing the change from the two different forms that Gemma and the rest of the girls took. Usually in books, the characters are either one or the other.

Harper really cared for Gemma and was willing to do anything to get her back. For this fact, I was cheering her on to succeed. However I thought that Daniel was a bit pushy. So for this fact, I was not feeling him and Harper together. Harper needed a friend more then she did a boyfriend. I was immersed in this book. Lullaby is a splashing, good time of a read! I can not wait to read book three, Tidal. I do plan to go back and read Wake.

Pretty good; I'd give this 3.5 stars but not quite 4. Having now read Hocking's Trylle trilogy as well as this ongoing series, I think she has the chops for good YA. I also think this series is better than Trylle. But she's also had the benefit of some more experience and a professional editor. I don't think this series is amazing, but it's engaging and interesting, and the writing is capable. I am looking forward to seeing how she's going to resolve the big "impossibilities" in the story, but my only concern is that she still needs two whole books to do it. Really? Wouldn't a trilogy be sufficient, rather than four whole books? Ah well.

I loveeeeeeee anything this woman writes. That means I love torturing myself emotionally because that's what she keeps doing to me. The series just keeps getting better and the characters are growing through the whole book. I just love them.

*2.5 stelle*
