This is somewhere between a 3 and a 4 star book for me.. feel very conflicted over it. It will undoubtedly have many triggers for some people reading it particularly with sexual abuse, rape, and miscarriage. A very mixed bag of some great writing and then not so great... And some of the plot felt quite contrived. However, I really loved the last 60 pages and that's what tipped it over a 3 for me. Not sure who I'll sell it to...someone with a strong stomach and a liking for folk horror I guess!

heavy trigger warnings for this book. This may have been the strangest book I have ever read, but I have to admit it was clever. It defo had serious flaws, but it was interesting, as well as deeply disturbing.

I legit cannot believe I finished this book.
I wanted to give up about 5 million times.
This book is creepy and weird and in general made me uncomfortable. Hours of reading whether to find out if this woman is delusional or mentally ill, or the shock that everything she experienced is real is met with no answer and even more questions.

Soz Pepperman, I won’t let you in.
Keep your bone necklaces and blood-thirsty lust to yourself.

At first I was unsure if I would like this book. I just wanted to know how it would end, so that's more of what drove me to finish it.

This book itched allll the right places of my brain. The format was weird at first but I soon learned to love it! I really love this book and it’s definitely on my reread list.
