That was a very fun read! and at the same time, I'm not sure I understood it all... It's a lot at once, and the timey wimey is strong in this one! But the art is amazing, and at its core it's really a message of hope, and asking us all to "pride up" and break the loop - the cycle of abuse and discrimination and death. It packs a punch, to say the least.
The one thing I'm quite... annoyed at, let's say... is that, despite the strong anti-racism that is weaved through the book, the big baddie is a Black woman, with very strong conservative views... and that didn't sit well with me. Wouldn't be the same issue if others were Black (other than the symbols like Malcolm X etc. which aren't really characters and are openly referred to as symbols).
