Prompt: A book with only words on the cover, no images or graphics (Popsugar challenge)

One moment this book was clichés and dullness, words that made me pause for the lack of impact. The next, words that made me stop to savour the imagery and to let the insights settle. Maybe if I was more of a poet, or at least read poetry more, I would have rated this 4 stars. But I'm not, so 3 stars it is.

Not a fan of modern poetry. I’m just trying to get caught up on my reading challenge so I’m reading this whole trilogy today.

this was bought for me as a gift and not something i would have planned to pick up otherwise. it wasn't as terrible as i was expecting, and i always appreciate when authors put themselves out their in whichever form they like best. this type of poetry isn't my favourite, and there were certain parts that weren't my taste at all, but nevertheless it was fairly decent.

This book’s cover had grabbed my attention for quite some time, and I finally got the chance to sit down with it and read it. In all of 20 minutes.

While the poetry isn’t challenging (there isn’t really anything to unpackage - the writing style is very straight forward), the message is quite beautiful. This poetry explores very painful themes and it is incredibly moving. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey through this book.

That said, it’s not challenging poetry, and a lot of page space is devoted to little more than a few lines at times.

This is a good introduction to poetry, but hopefully anyone reading this particular little book will be curious enough to start exploring poetry with meat on it’s bones, afterwards.

One of the most inspirational books, if not the most inspirational book, of poetry I've ever read. Loved it from start to finish.

I’m not sure why I struggle with poetry so much. :/
