This was a hard book to rate. The first half of the book felt dragged and a bit boring, but the second half and the end was quite engaging and suspenseful and surprising.

This is the 4th book in this series but it can easily be read as a stand alone. Personally i haven't read the other ones and I didn't feel like I missed anything. It didn't take away anything from the story.

The beauty of this book is that when you think you have it figured out it changes direction completely and we're all (reader and investigators) back to square one.

The ending was good and disturbing and interesting.
