I like captain marvel a lot. Very fun to read. I could have done without that non sequitur black vortex story, but I guess that's just my own frustration with comics speaking

Finishing up my read of the 2014 Captain Marvel series - overall, I was really into this book. I don't think I'll ever read it again, but it was a fun entry into the world of Captain Marvel. Issue 14 in this book struck me as kind of pointless - like quick we need a one-issue filler story (to be continued...in a different book...ugh), but the last issue had me literally crying at my desk so I'm still giving it 4 stars.

A space adventure. Well these are typically pretty bad, this one is better than expected. And the conversations between Carol and Harrison are good. And the death of a friend is actually handled pretty well. So I suppose it balances out - nothing all that impressive but not bad. 3.5 of 5.

I hate the big summer cross-over things, they always get in the way of my favourite runs. UG GET OUT OF HERE, SECRET WARS, NO ONE LIKES YOU.

The end of DeConnick's run though... HOOO BOY. < /3

A beautiful end to the book, interrupted but ultimately not spoiled by some marvel event nonsense.

Like I said for the first and second volumes, I'm not a huge comic fan. Comic book movies, yes. Actual comics? Not normally. I've read a few, but usually they're a little less typical. But my daughter loves superheroes, so in looking for a good comic to get her started with, we got here this, as well as the first Ms. Marvel last year. She loved them. This year for Christmas, we got her the next two in each series. She flew through them, so I decided I'd pick them up and see if I liked them.

The fact that I'm missing a LOT of backstory is WAY worse here. I disliked being constantly referred to other volumes in different series. This felt like a lot of disjointed series stuck together. I didn't like this one was much as the first two. Now I'm on to Ms. Marvel.
