Print awareness, phonological awareness. The pictures are engaging, if not a bit busy. I thought it was an interesting choice to feature traditional dance from around the world in the first part, and then do dances like disco and square-dancing. I'm not sure if I liked that break in the theme.

Joyful book about dance that celebrates lots of different types of kids.

The onomatopoeia appeals, and the illustrations are inclusive, and there are many different kinds of dance represented, but it just didn't hit quite the right note for me. Maybe it was the abrupt bedtime at the end, which didn't seem to fit the rest of the book.

As an aspiring arts educator, I think this book is a gift and a staple. Beautiful illustrations and lyrical text celebrate dances and dancers from many cultures. Each page is an invitation, expressing joy and love of dance that feel contagious. So grateful to have a copy in my home, and hopefully in my future classroom as well.

Picture Book. This book is all about the celebration of dance. The pictures feature bold drawings of multicultural characters, all lost to the joy of movement. The text is told in simple rhyme as 10 dances from around the world are featured. This would be a fun participatory read-aloud for infants or toddlers. I loved the back matter with brief explanations of each dance and I adored the endpapers.
