So first off, I can't wait for the next! Wow totally unexpected ending! I could not stop reading! Beautiful writing and amazing story. I absolutely loved the blending of both vampire and "zombie" mixed into a dystopian setting. Genius!

One of few book featuring zombies, I like. Maybe it has to do with hot vampires, or they are just written well. :D

Amazing post-apocalyptic story. Full of twist and turns. Author has created enthralling world, that I would love to read more about. Highly recommend it.

This was a short but intriguing read. A different take on a vampire story & I’m looking forward to reading more.

Frenzy has been on my kindle for a criminally long time, I'd heard great things about the series but I wasn't really in a vampire mood; for a pretty long time I have to say. Having read and enjoyed a couple of vampire based stories of late I thought I would jump in.

I'm glad to say that it wasn't vampiretastic and there was a really great balance between humans, vampires, and infected that worked well. Vampires in an apocalypse is not a new scenario but as it's not done often it felt fresh as a storyline. Porschia is a great character, she is strong but with a lot of weight on her shoulders. Each day becomes more of a struggle for the colonists as fewer and fewer resources remain available - her sense of doing what's needed for the colony is high, driven partially by guilt but also by a need to escape her cruel mother, she does what is needed in dire circumstances.

The story moves pretty rapidly and the writing style is punchy, there are some great twists and you're never sure if you're rooting for the right person - so I just rooted for Porschia and the boys can fight it out between them! There is clearly something more to Porschia, all the vamps want to feed from her and there's a bit of alpha going on with it, but it's never too much for the story which carefully sidesteps the cliche. I was totally drawn into the world which left a lot to the reader to imagine, normally this is a bit of a no no for me but I think because of the fast pace, not becoming bogged down in lore worked well.

Where did it fall down for me then? Honestly, it felt like I had only read half a book by the end. So much had been done to build up the characters and situations but all that then felt like it was done to set up books in what is, I have discovered, a 6 book series. I had just become invested in the characters and then it ended on a cliffy just when the action got started. I have to say I felt a little cheated, which is such a shame as the story for me was going amazing places.

I would love to continue on with the series but I'm not sure at the moment that I'm up for a lot of short cliffhanger reads that I'll get to in a piecemeal fashion.  It's got amazing potential though and for that I will award 4*

Frenzy….What can I possibly say about it that hasn’t already been said?! As I was nearing the end I was so caught up in the story that I did not realize I was reading the “acknowledgements”, it was that friggin amazing!!!! From page 1 it grabbed me and held me so tight. WOW! I can HONESTLY say I have not read a story quite like this one. Yes! It kept you wanting more, ohhh so much more! I have no idea what I am going to do now until the next one comes out. I need it more than chocolate! I went to sleep thinking about the story line and where it might go, to wake up and still be thinking about it! I need this on my shelf for my go to story! It blew me away to a whole new level of fiction, but at the same time the characters came to life in my mind!!! If you haven’t read “Frenzy” yet you better. I promise you will NOT be disappointed.

Frenzy is for those who love vampire fiction with a little added oomph. If you like your vampire stories to have a dystopian or post-apocalyptic feel then this is certainly a series to check out.

Our story focuses on a small colony of survivors who live with very little extra to go around, and each week there are rotations of people who go out and hunt for supplies. During these rotations, they are paired with a vampire and must rely on them for protection from the infected. This whole set up is really awesome! I love the idea of there being a treaty between humans and vampires, and that added tension from the zombies is just perfection. I really liked the world that Bond created with this series so far, and while we do get only a slight amount of information about the history of the infected, the glimpses we did get were definitely full of promise.

I think the story started out rather strong but dipped a bit in the latter portion when it comes to characters. I liked Porschia in the beginning; she was thoughtful and quiet, and she didn’t seem the type to just rush into something without some forethought. I think when the plot really kicks off in the second half she starts to lapse into the trap of getting super worked up really quickly and then she started losing points for how she handled stress. I get being traumatized and in denial, and I really get that sometimes it’s just too much and people make horrible split second decisions but there were moments early on I could see that this particular ‘problem’ was going to arise. This was almost premeditated and that just irritates me to no end, because she had plenty of time to work out the issues before 70% of the way through the story. That aside I still think she’s a good character and I think her growth will definitely be something I’m interested in seeing. Her relationship with Saul is super sweet and I’m really curious to see how it’ll turn out in the second book.

When it comes to the vampires I think Bond did a pretty good job of keeping their allure and their danger well balanced. I love a charming vampire…but I still want them to be the wolf among sheep, I don’t want them to lose their edge at the first chance of love. There were some typical no-gos for me with the whole ‘claiming’ thing but I’m forgiving it just this once as he’s sort of a dick anyway…I do think that Roman and Tage need to cool it on their creepy ways, though, their ‘relationship’ with Porschia demands a swift punch to the face.

While Frenzy didn’t blow me away I did enjoy it, and I am looking forward to trying out the next book!
