3.5 stars. Chapters 68-73.

This volume is mostly the cooldown from the previous arc (which was quite intense) and felt like the bridge between the previous and the upcoming arc. In regards to plot, not a lot took place but the events in this volume are important for the next arc. For a good arc to take place, a good foundation needs to be set first by the author. During this slower arc, demonic activity is on the rise. This gives the reader the sense that the characters are in the eye of the storm.

The Bath House story, like the Kracken Beach chapter, was the chapter that felt quite pointless and fanservice, but this manga is a shounen genre so things like this are going to occur at least once.

SpoilerYukio is close to having a mental breakdown. He is a flawed character, but its easy to forget with the level of responsibility he has, that he is only 15 years old! He's been through a lot of trauma that he hasn't been treated for.

Solid volume to the series!

The series continues its cooldown while setting up the stage for the next longer arc. We are, again, spending a little more time in the academy itself which makes for good playoff between the characters.

However, I do wish the series returns a bit more to its gothic-ish roots.

I felt like this installment was a mess and a half. First there was that pointless and not really funny bath scene in the beginning, and then there just didn't seem to be much of a point to the rest of the volume. Like, I get Kato's gearing up for something big and that the plot will move forward again, but after the last couple volumes I felt that this one was a bit of a let down. I found some scenes rushed and/or lacking, and other scenes to be completely unnecessary. Honestly, I just don't know if I'll continue the series after this one. I'm starting to quickly lose interest, which is a shame, because it was such a neat concept.

The speed has gone down a little in this volume but the chapters are revealing more and more about certain characters, this is getting more and more interesting by the page
