I was a huge fan of the Castle TV show on ABC, so I thought I would pick this book up for fun. I had a blast reading this book. It was a fun and quick read for me. I enjoyed the plot, which reminded me of an old Magnum PI episode from the 80s, which to me isn't a bad thing! This book was a guilty pleasure and I will definitely read more Derrick Storm books in the future!

Finished it in 24hrs. A fun little read, only chosen due to the Castle tie in, but a nice way to while away a lazy Saturday.

The writing is pretty terrible, but it's entertaining, so there's that.

Just a typical spy, James Bond type novel, but with a healthy dose of Castle sarcasm. I would read others, especially if they have some fan service cross overs again (yea Rook!)

This was a little disappointing. What makes the Nikki Heat books so good is the tie into the show and how it adds to the overall illusion of the experience by seeing how episodes have influenced elements of the story. Castle was supposed to have killed off Storm and I understand how he brings him back but there are two many elements of this that just feel forced. There are a lot of in jokes and references to Castle (the show) and even Firefly that just seem to contrived to be funny. Overall story also fell short for a spy thriller.

I have the first three ebooks, but haven't read them yet. I have read all of the Nikki Heat books. The Heat books have a certain camp fun to them that makes them good beach reading. This, on the other hand, is just too over the top with being cheesy and derivative.
