Just too slow, but incredibly creepy.

I really enjoyed this book. It was just what I needed - and perfect for the fall season.

most of the reasons i don’t think this book is better is mostly because of personal pet peeves . lack of word variation , i think the pacing at the beginning could have been better , etc . despite that , when the plot got going , i couldn’t put the book down . i read it in one night , essentially . it’s a good debut book . you can tell it’s the author’s first , but you can also tell she has potential . it was good

Definitely creepy. Sometimes gross. I kept reading because I wanted to find out what was going on with Julie. These ladies really took too long to realize something bad was happening. The narrator was good.

This book was all the things I wished it wasn’t: the main  character’s self pitying, weird and awkward moments, unresolved tension, slow paced, and a “wait huh?” Ending.
Basically there’s a friend group and Julie disappears and comes back a year later, as a vampire who can’t control her urges? And the friend closest to her -Elise- just complains and whines and pities herself throughout the ENTIRE BOOK I WANTED TO SCREAM! All the friends hate their lives, and once Elise lets Julie go into the woods to be “free” the rest survive, and try to live in the present.
This book was awful and it was a huge waste of my time that I’ll never get back. Reader be warned!!
