"No--no, weren't you listening? All I am is a story." —Dick Grayson, in GRAYSON ANNUAL #1

i have my qualms with this, but mostly it suffers from being new 52 u know? the holes in characterization, the timelines, etc. there's a massive issue with oversexualizing dick but that's been going on for a bit now. other cons . . . the lack of emotional continuity, mostly. but, all in all, i do really enjoy this series. what can i say! i'm a sucker for a spy, a liar, a manipulator—agent 37 gave me all of that in the package of dick grayson. who am i to say no to that bit of fun!

I read this out of continuity, knowing a fair amount of Dick Grayson, but not in place of post-Flashpoint. As a fan of spy movies and a fan of Nightwing, this was an absolute blast and I can recommend to loads of folks, not just those interested in superheroes or DC.

Mikel Janín's art is a far cry from the stiff Justice League Dark offerings, in Grason they're dynamic, they draw you in, his use of framing and flow is among the best I've experienced, which goes hand in hand with Tim Seeley's dialogue and plotting which is very engaging and you do fall in love with the quirks that make each character unique. It's tru to tone and not too cheesy or cliche despite the subject matter.

Somehow it manages to be a vital expansion and continuation and evolution of Dick Grayson.

Strong start, though it seemed to lose its focus a bit as the series went on. Still, a fun read!

The bulk of the collection is easily 5 stars. Seeley, King, and Janin are a fantastic team and give the spy game a true sense of colorful fun. Somewhere around the "Robin War" issues, the storyline gets lost and then a change in creative team sends the end of the run down a much more generic path.

It’s fine, I like Dick Grayson as a character and I think for the most part he’s written well. I liked his spy partner lady, idk her name but she was cool.
I thought that Midnight villain guy was interesting.

The art was great (for most of the issues)
I really liked the way the panels were used really creatively with things crossing into different panels or them playing with the gutter space, I thought that was awesome!

The cannibal part was weird ngl, and so was the girls chasing Dick thought the trees, didn’t like that at all.

But I got bored (it’s a ginormous book but the library didn’t have individual issues or volumes) and didn’t finish most of it. Not my fave ark gotta say

While the book is hampered by a weak ending that sees series writers Tom Seely and Tom King and series artist Mikel Janin leave shortly before the book ends, the first 90% of this is a delightful, thrilling, and beautifully illustrated sci fi spy thriller.

I really hoped to like this series, but I just don't get it. I don't know what they were going for. This never felt like Dick Grayson. It could have been anyone. At worst it's boring and at best, inconsequential. I'm glad it's over.

I’m not really a great comic reviewer since I can’t really judge them based on previous runs (I’m slowly but surely getting deeper into the DC universe), so i just base the rating of a comic on whether i enjoyed it.

I just really liked Dick Grayson as a spy 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dick Grayson is my favorite superhero, and these characterizations are PERFECT honestly. I kind of love this series.
