This book was a happy surprise. It was a super quick lighthearted read that touched on some sensitive subjects. Also, i liked that it didn’t necessarily wrap up how i thought it would with the parents getting back together where that would probably take over the whole story, but it ended with everyone growing and staying focused on the daughter.

The story was writtenly decent. It has a mix of poetry and pretty dialog. It was an easy read to me. The characters were mediocre and they did eventually accept one another but somehow, to me at least, does not show it in the book. As if they just skip to the next part. But overall the story was okay.
Minor: Death of parent, Emotional abuse, Homophobia, Medical content, Racism, and Toxic relationship
