I greatly dislike books that are written in present tense, so that was a con for me. I also thought that the time gap between 'Dark Passage' and this was too long. The pacing was very slow and rather boring, and I thought the previous books were a lot better.

I liked this book for the most part. The mystery aspect of this one was so well planned and well executed. The reason it gets four stars instead of five though is because the ending was incredibly unsatisfying and left off as if it was a cliffhanger even though it’s supposed to be the end of the series. But I loved the amount of character cameos and the way that there were so many twists and turns in this book. Overall, this was a wonderful series that made me feel like a kid again.

I really enjoyed the final book in the Kingdom Keeper Series. It was full of twists and turns. I could have done without some things mentioned over and over again, so that caused some skimming over a few word.

Out of all of these books, this one felt the darkest. It slid very close to Aztec culture in the sense of human sacrifices-so going from goofy villain characters to attempted murder is quite a jump...

Not sure if there could or should be another book after this one. Lets just let those high school kids get a full night's rest for once.
