Wow, I liked this book A LOT! I love how just mentioning Navarog's name brought fear to the story. Then to find out a secret at the end of the book.

I'm heartbroken over a couple of characters, but the story was so well crafted. I will have to get going on the next book now to see what happens.

The series really takes off from book 3 to the end. It's fast paced with twists and turns and new characters and old. Best one yet.

My thought in this book is that there was an awful lot of not dying - and a subsequent lot of not-really-caring or at least sort of under-reactions - for what is otherwise written like a children's book.

Loved the dragon sanctuary. Good twist in the story. Only issue I had was the end was a little rushed. Can't wait for the next one.

"Brace yourself for a shocking secret."

I took this warning lightly and didn't brace myself and I was so stupefied by that sick plot twist that I had to stop reading to get a hold of my emotions. WHAT THE HELL, BRANDON MULL??
