I actually really like a well-developed “enemies to lovers” trope, but I definitely do not like the “I hate you but I’m going to lust after you anyway” trope. It’s so shallow and annoying.
This trope also makes every character seem beyond stupid and like their brains are just completely lust-addled. Besides, the protagonists here just had absolutely awful personalities and were just flat-out impossible to like. Jazz was even worse than Ant though; he was literally just the worst and most self-absorbed arsehole alive.
Lastly, this was simply not a love story; it was lust. Truly nothing more than lust. They had no connection whatsoever and were somehow sexually drawn to each other for no reason, while still hating each other. I’m really not interested in that. It was so boring, I eventually just couldn’t help but start skimming.

Absolutely disgustingly obsessed with these boys!

In the 3rd installment of these series, you have some bi-awakenings, a small enemies to lovers, soooo much angst, some amazing spicy scenes and all the found family vibes you can manage to get. I loved the Latino representation.

Truly enjoyed this book and all the couples however this might be my favorite out the whole series!

Thank you so much Bailey for trusting me with an advance copy in exchange for an honest review!

Finally! After not liking the first two books in the series I decided to atleast try this one as it was higher rated and I hate leaving a series unfinished. I'm so happy I did! This one just worked better for me, I was able to connect to both characters and while there was still drug use, it didn't seem to be taking up the whole story like the other two books did. It was more of a fight for them to end up together which made it so much more satisfying when they finally did. The possessiveness was also very very hot

i didn’t like this, i didn’t really connect with their relationship, the moments they did have were too fleething and revolved around sexual attraction. their fights were explosive and they never really talked about them afterwards. this story would’ve been much better if they didn’t move so fast and actually learned how to communicate.

This really took the enemies to lovers, slow burn to the next level. Jazz and Ant literally beat the shit out of each other. They were both as stubborn as two men could be, They had some serious misconceptions about each other and instead of talking it out, they chose to fight and avoid. Considering their childhoods and circumstances, it wasn't a shocker they acted that way. They were constantly in defense mode. The hostility made for a very uncomfortable situation not only for them but also their friend group. It actually left both of them feeling kind of isolated.

Jazz and Ant were so similar in many ways but thought the worst of each other. I think they felt it gave them reason to be a dick to the other. If they maintained the animosity, they wouldn't have to admit they were wrong - they also wouldn't have to open their heart to another person that might disappoint them or leave. But they really did need each other and not just because all of their friends had paired off. They were able to give the support, comfort and safety they truly needed.

Ant was used to doing everything alone. He believed that if he just worked harder, life wouldn't fall apart. Jazz did everything alone so he wouldn't have to risk being abandoned. They were so frustrating though! It was like - STOP fighting, you fools!! Just admit you're wrong and start to let the other in!! But we needed that tension. That loathing! We needed to understand them and why they were scared. We needed them to have their own come to Jesus! Because once that tension broke - HOLY SHIT!

The passion, care, intimacy, and vulnerability that was present each time the physically connected is exactly what I crave in romance! They were so beautiful together! And let's not forget how much they made each other's lives better! The compassion Ant had for Jazz even during the most terrifying times, was exactly what they both needed. Jazz needed stability and Ant needed an outlet for all the love he trapped inside. This was just such a wonderful way to wrap up this series!
