«No moon is there, no voice, no sound
of beating heart; a sigh profound.
Once in each age, as each age dies,
alone is heard. Far, far it lies.

Upon the plain, there rushed forth and high
shadows at dead end of night and mirrored in the sky
far, far away, beyond might of day.
And there lay the land of the dead of mortal cold decay.»

Tolkien is the greatest of all times. Fantasy is what it is today because of him and this series.

Wow!! Amazing end to such a great trilogy !
Second half of the book again way better than first half of the book BUT still all really good, and the ending was a lot longer than I expected and some crazy twists involving Saruman at the end !!!
Made me cry about twice on the train home from London, frodo and sam holding hands all the way along through mount doom is so wholesome and heart warming
Very cosy read, pleased that it was just as good as Two Towers in terms of story etc. but think Two Towers is my fave overall
