I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was happy to note that this story took place a year after the first story in the sequence rather than following the usual pattern of fantasy sequences where sequels either carry on after the last book or shorty after. The prose is mostly light and breezy but with enough content to make it feel worth while to continue reading. The interactions between all the characters feel very real and they and their reactions to the events of the first story also feel very real.

There seems to be some world building at play here that is hinted at rather than explained in long drawn out passages. Not that it leaves you needing any more information than you're given. I'd be interested to know if my own theories for some of the worlds history are born out or not, so I will certainly be reading any follow ups to this proficient story.
