This was a fun, fast read. It wasn't as good as her last book at all - however, it still carries her style. I also liked the ending.

While the narration is spot on, I did not like this book. I’m tired of the trope of socially clueless women who just don’t understand why other people don’t adooooooore them. It’s the same reason I disliked Eleanor Oliphant.

This was so good! I expected to like it (I really liked Where Did You Go,Bernadette), but not this much! It's just steadily, thoughtfully good and funny and poignant. And has no resolution, really. Which I'm just thinking about (I finished it just minutes ago). It's impressive that Semple can make an entire book out of one day. I hope tomorrow is a little better for Eleanore!

Enjoyed the humor and the style of writing in this book but it felt very scattered and the ending seemed rushed. I loved and will forever remember the part about “smell the soup, cool the soup”
ETA: dropped the rating because she did forget about her dog all day and I don’t like that

I couldn't concentrate on most the book because of fucking Eleanor leaving the goddamn DOG AT THE STORE ALL DAY !(^&#(*@!^&(! That thrummed in my head the entire time - was that just an oversight that the editor didn't pick up? Nope, it was on purpose.

I'm okay with books where I don't like the main character but all I could think of is how she didn't end up arrested for all of the shit she pulled. Eleanor, Joe, and annoyingly precocious Timby all deserve each other. Yo Yo deserves better.
