I had a harder time getting through this book than any other SJM book. That being said, it was still a good book, and vital to the storyline for the rest of the series. This book is definitely the turning point of the storyline.

Rereading TOG might actually be more enjoyable than the first time through. Knowing the characters better and being able to pick up on the foreshadowing of events to come has been really fun. The second book has such a great ending that really sets the series into motion!

Spoiler I can’t believe they killed off Nehemia. She was such a strong female character and I loved her and Celaena’s friendship. It was heartbreaking, but I got such ick vibes from Archer I knew he was somehow involved.

The ending did get me bad because I knew something odd was going on with her background but I had no idea she WAS Aelin. That really threw me but I’m so excited to see what happens next. Chaol keeps giving me bad vibes, and I really hope that Dorian gets more involved later on because he’s really starting to grow on me.

Okay so I had been putting off the last couple chapters in the book due to a busy week/high anxiety over what I thought was gonna happen. My poor friend who has already read the series got over 30 texts of my long babbling thoughts guessing what was going to happen, and I’m proud to say I GUESSED IT. 😂

It may have been all the subconscious stuff I’ve seen on bookstagram over the years, but I’m typically really good at avoiding spoilers so I’ll spare you any spoilers here.

Anyway- read this book. This series is great. 🙌🏼 Celaena is still a badass. 💪🏼🗡️ Chaol is everything. 😍🥰 Dorian is also precious.🥹

This was such a strong sequel and I can’t wait to see how the story continues to progress! Love being back with these characters ✨

!!!Spoilers ahead!!!

Spoiler
I knew from the first time when Aelin was mentioned that it was Celena. I did expect it to happen and I liked how it was revealed at the end.

However, I still don't get what Celena sees in Chaol. Dorian is right there!!! Or am I missing something? I have absolutely no clue what's so interesting about Chaol... someone please explain without spoilers for the coming books.

Anyway, I am glad Celena is gone from both of them and hopefully she will find someone else on this new continent or no one at all because she is better off without these man who only cause her trouble lol.

Also, RIP Nehemia.

I didn't find Crown of Midnight as compelling a read as Throne of Glass, but it was entertaining enough. I'll keep reading to see how the mysteries unfold.
