Cute but familiar

The Trouble with Tabbies was a light and enjoyable read. However, it was very formulaic and reminded me a lot of the movie The Wedding Date. The fake relationship for various kinds of gain is an often used trope. Enjoyable, but not as original as her first work

Too much family drama, and yet so little romance. Fake relationships is usually one of my favorite tropes and even that didn't salvage this book.

I also hate that this is the 2/2 heroine in this series with no redemption arc. Bea's sudden realization that she didn't actually need her inheritance to fund the shelter or whatever meant nothing when, in the end, she ended up accepting her dad's money anyway. On the other hand, Sebastian refused daddy's money (even though he really needed it), letting her go in the process, SOLD HIS CAMERA so he could pay her back, worked his ass off and even got to buy the camera of his dreams. At least he did something for himself, not like Bea who danced around two possible love interests, and started and finished the book relying on someone else's money.

I read the Trouble with Tabbies in one sitting, I refused to put it down until I found out how Bea would resolve her dilemma.
My gosh! I loved it. I smiled, I laughed, I wanted to punch people and then I squee’d. That’s a good book by my scale of rating emotions

The Trouble with Tabbies is the second book in the “Love and Pets” series by A.G. Henley

The Trouble with Tabbies is a very cute light easy read. Cute animals, quirky characters and the fake fiance trope merge to make this an enjoyable fun read.

Beatrix (Bea) is a romance novelist who keeps rescuing cats. She has a house full of them! She has a complex relationship with her Father, who is holding up her inheritance until she is settled. She wants that money to help start a cat rescue shelter, and has lied to her family about a non-existent fiance. When summoned to her father’s birthday party she realizes she needs a fake fiance, and fast. Using a dating app, she finds photographer Sebastian Ross, a bartender by night, and a struggling photographer by day. He could use the money Beatrix offers him to be her fake fiance, and he’s a bit intrigued by her offer. What can go wrong?

This book was a fast read, and fun. Beatrix is not your typical crazy cat lady, but the description almost fits. She can’t say no to a cat in trouble, which is why she wants to help her friend build the new cat shelter. She needs her inheritance in order to help fund the shelter build.

If you want a fast fun easy read, The Trouble with Tabbies is it!
