Pair this book with Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and it shoud be a gift every girl gets essentially upon hitting puberty. Loved the straightforward, frank style--and the audiobook was great, too; the author reads with a smile on her face.

Very informative — definitely comes off as science-based while still remaining totally readable for the non-expert. It's also a good balance of general concepts, specific examples, and practical advice, with worksheets and suggestions for actually putting the principles discussed into use. My one irritation is that the author sometimes lets a cute metaphor get in the way of the point. The "sleepy hedgehog" bit was cute, but it didn't seem particularly illustrative of the concept in question, and I honestly found the "emotional One Ring" metaphor clunky and not terribly apt. Overall though, I found it a very useful and enlightening read.

Dr. Nagoski does a wonderful job bringing this book to life! I felt supported and understood. She answers questions I didn't know I had and creates a safe space for all.

At one point she references Blast From The Past...so obviously it's a good book.
