Much like the rest of the Mead Mishaps books, That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human is giving you exactly what it says it will (shifter romance and humor), no more, no less. It's an enjoyable, adventurous, saucy read giving just the right amount of character cameos from the previous books to keep the cozy/ familiar vibes coming (yay for Cherry being alive, yay for more Alexis content).

I will say for those that normally skip authors notes and launch themselves into a book, that early on there is a significant amount of dubious consent (relating to smelly drugged tea and misunderstandings) which is personally not my favorite thing. The content warnings supplied in the book were enough to prepare me to expect it, so it didn't ruin the book for me and that's why I personally love that all of Lemmigs books come with content warnings. The rest of the book does rely on Cherry and Dante's bond being formed in that moment of dub con, but the remainder of the book does include enthusiastic consent, so it is worth the read if you can get past that bit.

Overall the book is a great blend of humor, fantasy, and romance. If you enjoyed the other two books in this series, this will absolutely be your cup of (hopefully not smelly) tea.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human by Kimberly Lemming is the third book in the Mead Mishaps series and it's just as fun as the first two books in the series.

This book is about Cherry, the long lost sister of Cinnamon, Cinnamon is the the main character from the first book. Cherry was abducted 5 years prior by something that lives in the lake on the edge of her small town, so the story opens up with her stuck in a tower. Cherry gets rescued by Dante, a dragon shifter who happens to be friends with the main characters of book one and book two.

Cherry has been kidnapped once already, she doesn't feel like she can trust Dante because he happens to know the entity that kidnapped Cherry the first time! Cherry thinks that there's no way that Dante will aid her escape so she uses some local mushrooms to drug Dante. Dante, in his drugged state, bites Cherry and a dragon bite means that they're now formally (or informally) mated to one another. They then set off on a journey to get Cherry home BUT Cherry refuses to tell Dante directly where she's from, because she's afraid that he's not friendly after all.

This story was romantic, funny, gory, surprising, and just down right entertaining! If you like paranormal romance, fantasy romance, humor, and smut, then this is for you!

The whole beginning of the story was messy, with the drugging and the no consensual biting. At one point Dante puts his face in  Cherry's crotch without permission because he thinks that's how to woo a human woman. I had to knock half a star off for all the non consent and funny business shit.

Overall, I really enjoyed this novel! This is one of my favorite romance series. I'm giving this 4.5 stars out of 5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5/5 Stars

I really loved Dante and Cherry’s story but not as much as I loved Fallon and Cin’s. I really want a book where all 3 couples go on an adventure unlocking the kings treasure that Dante and Fallon were talking about.

Ahh I love Kimberly Lemming’s books so muchhhh
I didn’t love this one quite as much as the others sadly but I still really enjoyed it and had a great timee :) I’m not sure if I can put my finger on exactly what put me off a bit but I think in part it was the miscommunication and the ways that Cherry kept missing that Dante and everyone knew her sister. I just felt it to be unnecessary and kinda took me out of the story.
I also felt the different essentially enslaved creatures in both Gideon and Dante’s realms was kinda a weird detail and just felt really unnecessary

Also while they are addressed and dealt with fairly well I still didn’t love the power dynamics of Cherry almost immediately being bonded with Dante against her will and generally made it more difficult to feel comfortable with the rest of their story.
I feel like writing this I’m kinda talking myself into liking it less sadly lol but at least as of now I did overall have a good time reading it just definitely wasn’t a perfect read like some of her other books have been for me.

This was a great read, and I think my favorite of the series. Dante was definitely my favorite MMC. The story was fun and fast-paced, and I loved how the characters’ relationship developed. The tension that was built between Cherry and the rest of the characters not disclosing their shared relationship to Boohail was delicious.

I still wish the author had beta readers (she might, idk) to fix minor continuity errors that took me out of the story.

But all in all this was a really fun read.
