Read the first 70 or so pages of this while jet lagged and so spent the remainder of the book just wildly confused. There were also no paragraphs and instead just run on sentences which meant I really had to concentrate when I read - which is fine, I just probably shouldn’t have chosen it as the book to read in short stints on my daily commute.

it hurt my eyes a bit to read at times because of how long the sentences but apart from that minor detail i really enjoyed this book. the writing is just so so creative & ephemeral & metaphorical and i love the structure. it's quintessential márquez and i love it.

I started this book only because I loved "One Hundred Years of Solitude" but I had to drag myself to page 45 before finally giving up. It is painful for me to leave a book unfinished which is why I rarely do it, but this one I just can't finish. Maybe this isn't the right time for me and this book. So, until that time arrives, 45 pages was more than enough.
