A ragtag team of superheroes trying to save the world from the apocalypse. Sounds a lot like x-men.
The TV adaptation was really good and I was compelled to read the source material. The artwork is topnotch. So is the world-building. But i think, because of the limitation of chapters (How much character development is even possible in 6 chapters anyway), there is not much going on.

Really wanted to enjoy this series but none of the characters seem more than 2D cut outs. The plot is as nonsensical and messy as always, feeling like a bad acid trip of sorts. This is where I part with this series.

Ok, so I don't think I'm qualified to rate this graphic novel - because honestly I don't even know what that means nor how it is different than a comic book.
I will say that it's visually beautiful; the illustrations are super fun. It has decent LBGTQ representation. Quirky & weird with a lil emotional depth.
And, I'm def not a fan of step-sibling, found family sibling, whatever sibling romance...
Comparing it to the show does it a disservice.
Now. Will someone please explain the difference between a graphic novel and a comic book PLZ?
