This is Book 2 of the A Touch of Darkness Series, first book in the Hades Saga. I like how similar Hades’ thoughts are to Persephone’s in their conjoined scenes. Compared to A Touch of Darkness, Persephone seems more bold and confident here. I also like how Hecate and Hermes show up more! Hecate is the mother both Persephone and Hades needed.

I really enjoyed Hades POV. Made Persephone a little better. Hecate and Hermes are my faves. They’re witty and funny and awesome. I do feel like Hades is a bit of a cornball and sometimes thinks of nothing but sex but overall enjoyable

I gobbled this up. Like the first book, it was a fun time but not a well-written time. Though this book definitely had more plot moving the story along (which I appreciated). However, the plot got lost at parts throughout the book. I also felt like the romance part of the book was less compelling and more horny. We also saw a little bit more of Hades’ dark side which fleshed out his character. I feel like the first and second books could have been combined and condensed to make a better story overall, but I’m not made I listened to this 12 hour audiobook.

I read persys pov first wasn’t aware hades pov existed but it was neat to see things from his perspective I enjoyed it but it the books did feel like repeats. Persys story was more intriguing to me but there was so much detail in this one it’s difficult to wrap my mind around everything that’s happening beginning to end.

Just a note: it's hard for me to separate the triggering events in this book from those in "A Touch of Darkness," as I read them back to back. I may have listed some content warnings that are more applicable to "A Touch of Darkness" than to this book from Hades' POV, so I'm sorry if this is the case! Most of the important events are the same, however, so I think that most warnings from "A Touch of Darkness" would make this list nonetheless.

As a companion to A Touch of Darkness, A Game of Fate adds interesting information and detail to Hades and Persephone’s story. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Hades’ perspective has a completely different arc and central conflict than Persephone’s. There is insight into Hades’ character that provides a different perspective for the personal conflicts in a Touch of Darkness, and the central conflict lays the groundwork for future interactions with Triad (a mortal/demigod organization opposed to Olympian rule) that is highly relevant post A Touch of Malice. 
As a stand-alone novel/series, the story can feel a little disjointed. Hades’ story is a very different kind of plot than Persephone’s during the equivalent span of time, but with the restrictions of a flipped perspective retelling, the pacing often felt interrupted to fit in Hades perspective on scenes from A Touch of Darkness. As the series progresses I would be curious to see if the pacing of Hade’s narrative is able to become more cohesive.
I would recommend this book to anyone who has read and enjoy The first three books in the Hades and Persephone series.
