I just could not root for this man. He was much older, had a teen daughter he barely spoke to, and was just shitty. Sorry I can’t believe he can change his literal entire life over the course of three days and be the perfect husband to the woman he was an ass to and hadn’t seen in three years.
Also how he supposed to be almost too catholic to function but also be a dirty talking fuck machine? How he have rosary beads but also monologue about wet pussy for an uncomfortable amount of time? Given me the ick for real

Too Hard to Forget by Tessa Baily is about second chances and first loves.
Peggy plans on returning to her old school to confront the man that imprinted himself on her so much so that no other man will do for her. She has to stay strong and firm, and not give in to him, but that is easier said than done, especially when her old feelings are flittering just under the surface.
Elliot has moved on with his life and it is about football, but one person did get under his skin and he's never been able to forget her. Peggy. Now that she is back, he has another chance, but is he willing to take it?
Will these two figure it out and listen to their hearts? You have to read to find out. Although this book is #3 of the series, it can be read as a standalone. I liked the characters and the chemistry between Peggy and Elliot. There were parts that I was scratching my head or I felt it dragged a little, but overall the story was a good read and I highly recommend it. 3.5 stars.

I saw this at a non-bookish store with a very reasonable price, so my only option as an avid reader was to get it. It’s also a Tessa Bailey book, so this should be fun.

i swear the books in this series keep getting worse, i had high hopes for this one bc i loved peggy in the other ones.. i didn’t like the power dynamic between peggy and elliot, and also elliot was a terrible dad there was absolutely no excuse and all of a sudden when peggy comes back he realizes he could be a better father? no way.
i rlly hope belmont and sage’s book isn’t terrible bc i love them the most.
