This book was a mixed bag for me. I really love Peggy and I loved the idea of her being hung up on an old flame. However, I'm not a fan of the age gap. It was just really hard for me to see past. Also, while I understand the whole Catholic guilt element of the relationship between Peggy and Elliot I didn't find that it added to the relationship or the spice. While the characters did progress, I'm still not sure it's a healthy relationship in the long term. I did really like the background plot of this book though - outside of the romance plot.
Graphic: Death and Sexual content
Moderate: Grief, Abandonment, and Injury/Injury detail
Other than the death of Elliot's wife, prior to the events of the book and the corresponding feelings of grief on Elliot's part and abandonment on the part of his daughter, the only other content warning is the explicit sexual content.
