I wish I could forget everything I read and read it all again for the first time. This book was AMAZING. The writing was phenomenal and I swear I was crying, laughing, and clutching my hands out of anxiety. This was a rare beauty of a book. I can’t wait to read her other works !

Okay this was the second time I have read this one - only I tried it via audible this time around. The narrator was amazing with the many voices he spoke and I realized how truly poetic and lyrical the writing is. Still one of my favourites.

If you can’t count on the gays to fight Troy, you can count on them to be dramatic.

I feel as though this book would be most enjoyable for someone who is not already familiar with the Iliad since everything would be more impactful

This was so beautiful, so colourful and sensual. I could taste and smell and feel everything as if it's real.

This book was so vivid even though I don't know much of details about the fall of Troy, but I like this version. I read a book once and one character said that the Greeks believed no love could be between those who are not equals, and therefore men can only love men. Things were so depressing 3000 years ago, for women mostly, so I do think a relationship between a man and a woman back then wasn't held as highly as it is now. I do see this story happening instead of the older version.

I was never pulled to two characters in love like this before, it's so painful to see their demise.
