Look, if I feel like throwing up when I’m reading a play it’s almost always an automatic 4 stars. The way Letts has crafted this is honestly mind blowing to me. It feels familiar in a way — the characters and setting feel reminiscent of something Sam Shepard would write (to the point that I was holding my breath for an incest plot twist—and though that doesn’t happen, there are moments that make you more than worry) but Letts fills out the characters with little puzzle pieces throughout that add up to something wholly unique. I never knew what was going to happen next, and I spent most of my time reading this with my hand over my mouth. I love that it doesn’t spoon feed the audience and leaves big questions unanswered. Brave theatre. Sick, twisted, disgusting. Bravo.

My first play i got free tix to at Steppenwolf was a tracy Letts play, Bug, which I rlly loved so i went back to read his first one here
Still pretty f’d up but in a more familiar way which u can tell by the fact that of the three i’ve read so far this is the only one they made a movie of. Very twisty-turn-y, entertaining yarn.
Apparently this was first put on a in a tiny theater in some obscure illinois town, and Even tho it wasn't as good as bug if i just bumped into this play looking for some local theater or something, holy crap i would been buzzing afterwords! lots of fun ty tracy

Wowza. I love a dark play. I really do. There aren't a lot of thriller plays out there, but to find one by Tracy Letts? I'm a happy camper. This is a wild play and I loved it.

Mamita nada como el amor de una familia 🙏 te reís a la par que pensas esta gente es un desastre. Muy bueno, mantiene la tensión, es ridículo, es violento, es cómico, disparatado y complejo. Me encantó.

I was doubtful going into this, but so much happened and the plot just kept moving. I really enjoyed how fast paced this story was. I never quite knew where the story would go, so it was good at surprising me, and I kept wanting to find out what would happen next. The characters were really interesting to think about and how their relationships with each other work so forcefully.
