Synopsis: The doorway between the magical Visempirum and the human world has been reopened. Paladin are once more living in the citadel where Zuhra and Inara grew up completely isolated by the magical hedge that trapped them there. Amidst the brewing conflict between the Paladin and humans looms the threat of Barloc, who has stolen Inara’s immense power and continues to elude the Paladin who are desperately searching for him.

In this sequel to Sisters of Shadow and Light, Inara and Zuhra must navigate the treacherous paths of self-discovery, their love for each other, and for the boys who have captured their hearts. Together, they search for the strength within themselves to bridge the divide between the two worlds they inhabit, even as war threatens to destroy everything—and everyone—they love.

Review: For the most part I enjoyed this book and series immensely. The book did well with the character development and I loved seeing Inara's voice more in this book. The world building was great, the pacing was good, and I really enjoyed the plot and ending.

The only things I didn't like were that the tone of the book felt a bit too somber for it in certain parts and that the book had too much action for a tone that was somber and emotional. Don't get me wrong, it was emotional and sometimes heartbreaking, but in the action scenes I felt a little depressed.

Verdict: it's a good series!!

A satisfying end to my new favorite duology!

I want to start off by saying that Zuhra and especially Inara had excellent character arcs! As much as I loved the first book, I had the hardest time connecting with Inara, mostly because for most of the book, she has no personality, literally, and wasn’t present but I knew that was essential for the plot. However, after reading and finishing Warriors of Wing and Flame, I just LOVE both of them so much! I also found an extreme love for Loukas which was surprising to me since I didn’t care for him much in Sisters of Shadow and Light but we really were able to understand and appreciate him better by the end of this story!

The last 30% of the book kept just giving me chills and had me with tears in my eyes and that’s always a sure sign for me that I’m loving a book but also the fact that I couldn’t put it down and was devouring it. I was determined to finish the last part of the book in one sitting and I easily accomplished that, thanks to the amazing buildup to the end!

This sequel was a bit wordy at times and took a little to get the ball rolling in the beginning but it’s well worth it and is an amazing finale to this world full of Gryphons, love, magic and mostly importantly, family!

Toooooo much self blame and over repetition of earlier plot. I found myself really annoyed

pros:
- sweet ending
- unexpected plot twists
- wonderful world building when it came to the griffins

cons:
- i felt that the main characters' character development was lacking
- not enough elaboration on characters like barloc, sharmaine, and halvor; i wish barloc's backstory & relationship with halvor's mother was elaborated upon + i didn't feel the full impact of halvor's death because i didn't feel connected to him
- the communication issues between zuhra and raidyn in the beginning of the book felt pointless
- loukas and inara felt rushed
- timeline was a bit jumpy and hard to follow; it felt like way too much happened within the span of just a few weeks
