It was good. šŸ˜Š

I did like the pacing but I definitely feel like there were some characters introduced in here that just had tooo much backstory. I'm guessing this is like an ensemble series where you get to read and understand everybody's stories because they're important for the next installment.

You would never know there was a murder mystery plot line in this book too.

I think Remy and Jeremiah were good for each other. I think they brought out the good in each other as well.

Epilogue with no marriage or kids involved. Keep it next time Becky! You just pissed me off!

This was a solid 3.5 for me. There were moments I loved and others that felt too long for me. But overall, not mad I read it. I will definitely try the second one!

Did not realize it was Christian fiction AKA garbage. My mistake.

Great Read

This was an enjoyable read. This is the first book of the Sons of Scandal series. In this book, we meet Remy, our heroine who relocated in a small town in Maine after a traumatic experience. One day, she discovers a man swimming in the water struggling. She rescued him, and find out that he has amnesia. As he recovers, we see more and more unravel about his past and their romance blossoms. I thought the story was sweet and heartwarming. Also, I really liked that there was a mystery added in the story. To be honest, I really loved the characters. Remy is a strong heroine. She is artistic, smart, and caring. Jeremiah ā€œJonahā€ Camden is another strong character. During his amnesia days, he was known as ā€œJonah,ā€ until his real name was revealed. I thought his story was more interesting as we had more mystery surrounding who he was, and when he would get his memory back? Also, I thought their romance was sweet and genuine. As this is a Christian Fiction, I thought it was great, but I thought there could have been a better focus on faith and the knowledge that Godā€™s timing is always perfect. The ending was sweet. Overall, a great read.

Read via Kindle

There were things I liked about this book and things that I didnā€™t. For me, this was clean fiction and not Christian fiction. Some of the physical stuff was a little much a couple of times and this book appears to support that intimacy is a casual thing. God was an infrequent mention that didnā€™t really play a major role in the story. It felt ā€˜tacked onā€™ in a way, if Iā€™m being honest.

I did feel like the part with Jude early on was confusing and that Fionaā€™s story was an intrusion into the story. The POV changes were off-putting for me.

I did figure out the identity of the bad guy early on but that was okay.

I really liked the main charactersā€™ back-and-forth and bluntness that grew into something more. I liked seeing the progression. I loved Wendell and his story as well.

I liked the inclusion of art and the vulnerability of Remy in sharing her past.

I donā€™t know that Iā€™ll be continuing the series or not.
