Well give me a Christmassy Legally Blonde retelling her and I'm there faster than you can bend and snap!
This was fun, flirty and sexy as hell as Abbie and Damien's chemistry just sizzled off the page. They are two very hot people being even hotter together, basically. There is an element in this book examining Abbie's relationship with Richard and all the ways he was emotionally abusive and manipulative towards her, and the type of coercive control you can fall victim to without realising it. And with Damien's help, and all the examples of a true, healthier relationship, she starts to heal and find herself again, and stops being afraid of showing and acting exactly who she is for the first time in a long time.
I also appreciated the friend group in her of Cami and Kat who are there to support Abbie in her plans of revenge, but also just be there for her in her heartbreak. But also that Abbie and Kat weren't afraid of confronting Cami when it was clear she was going too far and some unresolved issues related to her past, and needed help.
As I've said, I loved Damien and Abigail and they were a very hot couple. They fit so well from the very beginning though it did feel at times in terms of being vulnerable and open, it was more her than him and at times he was almost too perfect. While the sex scenes were really hot, I wasn't a big fan of some of language used for dirty talk but that's just a personal thing for me.

I loved Damien. Sweet, kind, loving, with a touch of possessiveness. He showed Abbie what true love was when she had no clue. Richard was a grade A dick and abuser I hope he rots. Abbie’s story was emotional and heartbreaking.

Mention of: domestic abuse, parental abandonment, infidelity,
I was nervous to start this book because having a leading lady want revenge on an ex usually also includes her wanting to make him jealous and get him back and I'm just not about that haha So finding out that Abbie doesn't want her ex back she just wants him to realize what a prize he lost...just left me with a much better feeling.
The way that Abbie slowly looks back on her past relationship and realizing just how much she changed who she was to be what he needed/wanted was relatable. Seeing her realize the excuses she made to justify her ex's treatment of her and seeing that she is worthy and does deserve better 🤌🏽
This book is full of the best of besties and a sexy AF older man who is more than happy to show Abbie she deserves the world! 😭

Was this an incredibly well written book? No, but it was a quick, fun read. It was pretty obviously a play on Legally Blonde. The blonde who is never taken seriously, get her revenge on her ex.
One thing that really annoyed me about the writing was the long monologues within the dialogue. The characters would be talking, then there would be 3 pages of an inner monologue, then the conversation continued.
Abbie had been dating Richard for 4 years and he was absolutely horrible to her. Their relationship was riddled with gaslighting, manipulation, and emotional abuse. Addie changed everything about herself to become the person Richard wanted, but he was just using her. She was understandably traumatized from that relationship and had a lot of insecurities and self-esteem issues due to it.
I liked seeing how she was able to build herself back up throughout the book. Yet, I was kind of disappointed that most of her newfound self-esteem hinged on compliments from Damien.
Damien is a well known playboy, who also happens to be Richards boss. He is tall, dark, and handsome man who has a thing for petite blonds (shocker). He doesn't do serious, but changes his ways for Abbie (surprise!). The one thing that I really liked about him was that he spends a lot of time and effort helping to build Abbie back up and heal wounds caused by Richard.
I generally love a strong group of girlfriends. But her one friend needs some serious therapy...

Damien is a great love interest (even though I hate his name) and Abigail is super relatable and I love her.
I’ve only read the one other book from this universe, but this one was for sure the better of the two
