Wanted to read the book after watching the Netflix series. And I honestly am not mad that the stories were completely different. Because I went in blind reading the book, and I loved following the twists and turns.
Also I loved the tiny sprinkle of romance, because I’m a sucker for that too.

I saw the movie before I read the book and I really enjoyed it so I figured I'd give this a go! It's very similar to the movie. They're both enjoyable.
Things I liked:
Things I liked:
- I liked the slow unravelling of the mystery.
- The characters were smart. All of them.
- There was a nice amount of twists.
I don't think there was anything I really didn't like about the book. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't seen the movie first. I don't find there was a lot of additional information in the book.
Graphic: Death, Gun violence, and Murder
Moderate: Addiction, Cursing, Rape, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Sexual violence, Violence, Blood, and Stalking
This book is about a defense lawyer who is defending a man accused of assault and attempted rape of a women. Most of the explicit content is discussed between characters rather than seeing it happening in real time.
