An action packed legal thriller from the POV of a criminal defense attorney. I was torn between not liking him due to the law bending tactics used to defend his clients accused of criminal activity yet simultaneously feeling sympathetic to his situation. Great plot twist!

Wanted to read the book after watching the Netflix series. And I honestly am not mad that the stories were completely different. Because I went in blind reading the book, and I loved following the twists and turns.

Also I loved the tiny sprinkle of romance, because I’m a sucker for that too.

I saw the movie before I read the book and I really enjoyed it so I figured I'd give this a go! It's very similar to the movie. They're both enjoyable.

Things I liked:
  • I liked the slow unravelling of the mystery.
  • The characters were smart. All of them.
  • There was a nice amount of twists.

I don't think there was anything I really didn't like about the book. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't seen the movie first. I don't find there was a lot of additional information in the book.
