Groundhog thinks that making a winter burrow is boring. He thinks that gathering and storing food is boring. But most of all, he thinks that sleeping all winter long is boring. He likes to spend his time playing with the other animals. He decides to stay up over the winter and continue having fun. He is soon cold, lonely, and hungry, so he comes up with an idea that will put food in his belly and give him friends to play with.

I liked this - especially the illustrations. Not sure why, but it wasn't as popular with my library classes. Only a few of them chose to read this over [b:Gregory's Shadow|989439|Gregory's Shadow|Don Freeman|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1180032360s/989439.jpg|2795160] by Don Freeman. I used this as part of a library lesson on alliteration. We wrote groundhog tongue twisters.
