50% of the page space is taken up by Hill advertising her other series. She just didn't care.
Though it contains the most impressive sentence I've seen in a long time.
“My fangs are about to orgasm in my gums.”

I am very torn on this series. I really enjoy the plot, but the way the characters talk drives me crazy. I don't understand why the Vangels seem talk like 14 year old Valley girls. Maybe it is just me, but I can't stand it. Most of the things they say or think just seem weird seeing they are suppose to be Vikings. That aside, I really do like the story line of this series. I thought it was pretty interesting seeing Ivak trying to clean up the prison and I thought Tante Lulu was a pretty funny addition to the book.

This book was a bit too over the top for me. I didn't end up finishing it.

I thought the combination of angels and vampires sounded neat. I like vampires in my books usually and that sounded like a creative twist. I did enjoy the world-building in this book, but it wasn't enough to offset the cheesy sex scenes - they made me roll my eyes and think: "Oh brother" more than once and that's not what a sex scene is supposed to do in a book.

I really felt no connection to Gabrielle and Ivak as a couple. There was just nothing that drew me in about their interactions.

Overall, my reaction to almost everything in this book was that it was okay, but that was about it. The one thing I DID love about this book was Tante Lulu! She was an absolute hoot! Unfortunately, she wasn't in the story enough to keep me entertained enough to stick with this to the end. Just not the right book for my interests.
