Overall, I thought this was the farthest reach in terms of direct retellings and tried to make up for it in terms of references. To me, personally this felt like a reach and the story was solid as it was without them.

I think romance tropes like this have been done before, but I thought this was the best I have seen it done that could lead to a healthy and happy relationship down the line.
