A short and succinct reminder of the importance of compassion and humanity in medicine. Whilst undoubtedly useful for clinicians in all fields, I feel this is relevant for all relationships and encounters with others in non clinical roles, and indeed has applications across all of life. A truly enjoyable read.

Accessible and sincere, this is a starting point for those in the field. Unfortunately I feel it is not long enough or deep enough to connect, though I admit that the author makes that clear at the beginning - indeed, with the number of other works he mentions and references, this is to any GP or doctor that enjoys reading a stepping stone to other writing in the future.

Neither one nor the other - not enough to change you when you want to, but too much for those that do not want to make that change. And for someone like myself who isn't in that situation, it misses the mark (though there are interesting points made).
