I’ll admit this one took me forever to read solely because anthologies are hard for me to fully get into. I’ve been trying to read more throughout the year to sort of see if I can curb that and have come across some serious bangers! This one just didn’t fully make it up there for me 😅
I still recommend this anthology to anyone who loves religious horror and angels specifically (of course) in all their many shapes and forms. Devout has something for everyone with stories written by so many great indie authors! Some favs that really stood out for me being “And the Mountains Melt Like Wax”/“We Suffer in Fire” by Tyler Battaglia, “Pieces” by Emily Hoffman, and “Paradises” by Rafael Nicolás 🙏
There’s also a sequel in the works and I’m very excited! Soooo many more of my favorite authors will be joining that one and it's gonna be fun to see what'll be in store!

Devout is hard to describe with it been an anthology and features such a beautiful array of different pieces.
Full of horror and love and so many lyrical proses this is a definite need to read. It features all my favourite themes with religious eroticism horror is my niche and I wish more people would read this to understand why it’s so beautiful because all authors in here do it perfectly.
I would recommend everyone to read this short stories that you can pick up during the day and will stay with you for along time. Once you go down the angel road there’s no escaping so come join us here.

like most collections, this had some hits and misses, but i'm giving it extra points for trying interesting things and being very weird and very trans and queer.
