Ganz nett, aber wenig reizvoll wenn man den Plottwost aus der Serie bereits kennt.

A really nice book. I read the French translation which was excellent. It was engaging from the very first page and kept you in until the end. It’s nothing extraordinary plot-wise, but the author did an excellent job with the descriptions and dialogues, which… doesn’t happen too often. Some things I did not understand (yet?) and some things I detested, mostly the human hunt part, American Nightmare-like – but I’ve always found this plot stupid and cringe, so it’s no surprise. Once this was over, I was back to my happy mystery loving self.
I’ll be picking up the next two books in this series soon and I’m excited to see who will escape Wayward Pines.

A good mix of Fallout, Stranger Things, The Village, Twin Peaks, X-Files, and my absolute all-time beloved ‘there are monsters outside the fence’ plot.
