Cherish Her is a sweet, sexy story about love after loss. The hero is ex-military and the heroine is a single mom. If small town romance is your jam, this is a book for you. We get to check up on old favs from previous books. A sweet read.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

"The soul is like the air of our heart. I like to think it’s our souls’ job to keep our hearts beating so we can live and love." - Cherish Her, Andrea Johnston

Single parents are hard to write in my opinion, especially those with kids already. We meet Dakota in Andrea's book Martinis and Moonlight, she is Minnesota's sister and she has had a tough time as of late. Her girls are young, and their Dad is gone. She isn't really ready to move on and start dating - that is until a rugged military veteran shows up in town and catches her eye. Grant is a man of not very many words; but he has a heart of gold. He is the literal beating heart of this story. He is the one that pursues her in a way that slowly brings her heart to a place of being ready for love, and that in and of itself is beautiful.

You DO NOT have to read Martinis, or Promise Her (book 1 in the Military Men of Lexington series) to read this book. It is a total standalone, but once you latch on to these characters, you will want to go back and read ALL THE THINGS. I love this town so much, and I am sad but excited to see the series end this summer with Love Her.

I love a book that gives me feels & this one had it all. I laughed. I swooned. I cried a little (& I’m not a normally a book crier!). There was even a little suspense & a twist that took me by surprise.

Grant - *sigh* love that he has lived some life & has a little gray in his hair and beard. He rose above my expectations in this book & was even more than I thought he’d be!

Dakota - life has dealt her a hand no woman wants, but she is strong & determined and has pulled herself above it all to make a new life for herself and her babies!

I also love kids in books and Ari & Cali were a sassy & sweet added bonus to this book.

We meet some new characters (Gene anybody?) & revisit some we already know and all the while we feel like we belong in this small town right along with them! Andrea always does a great job not just telling them story, but making you feel like you’re right there in the middle of it!

You can’t help but cheer for Dakota & Grant to come together and live their love story - just like all of Lexington is doing (or are they?? *wiggles eyebrows*). Now you’ll have to read it & see for yourself!

This was a great book with some wonderful twists and surprises to keep me hooked.

Grant was an awesome character and I was excited for his book after meeting him in the first book. He was such a loyal friend to both Taylor and Scarlett in the first book and I really wanted him to find his person!

Dakota was someone who went through so much after losing Jeff and trying to recuperate after her accident. Being a single mom is so much work and with everything that she went through I gave her so much credit to finally getting everything back on track and having the strength to better herself. She was dedicated to being the best mom that she could to her girls and I loved that!

I loved the chemistry right from the beginning between Dakota and Grant but I also understood why Dakota really needed to take it slow after everything she had been through and why she was so afraid to love again.

There was some mystery in the book with a secret admirer and at the beginning you believe it is one character but then another one gets introduced and you really aren’t sure who it is. I was so mad when the police didn’t take Grant and Dakota serious enough but I was glad that Connor and Taylor were there to help them.

I was so mad at Grant for inviting a person in when I knew he shouldn’t!! I was so proud of Dakota for what she was able to do and how Grant finished it off.

The end was great and I love that they want to expand their family! Looking forward to a story on Connor next!

I love the single parent stories and this one was so freaking amazing. I have adored Grant and his protective ways since Promise Her. So Grant getting his own story was something I have looked forward to. Dakota is so strong and is absolutely the perfect match for him. You are in for a roller coaster ride of emotions from start to finish. You go through all the feels. I loved how great Grant is with Ari and Cali it just makes your heart swoon. I cannot wait for the next book.

Talk about swoon worthy!!!! This book is so sweet. Grant is a silver fox that has all the women looking. He, however, only has eyes for one woman, that would be Dakota. Dakota, is a widow, and single mom of two adorable little girls. She hasn't even considered dating since she lost her husband 5 years before.

I love the chemistry between these two characters. The way Grant doesn't push Dakota into a relationship, but lets things evolve naturally from friendship to more. He cares for her and her girls.

There are so many great supporting characters in this book as well. My favorite was probably Gene. He played such a small role, but had so much wisdom.

This book also has just the slightest bit of suspense or mystery to it. The "villian" was definitely not who I expected.

This is a book that will leave you feeling happy. It is an overall wonderful story with the perfect ending. I can't wait for the third and final book in this series.

Andrea Johnston knows how to write a book that will consume every one of your thoughts. Once I started Cherish Her it was almost impossible for me to put it down! Grant is the ultimate book boyfriend! It takes a special kind of man to do what he does! Maybe I'm just overly emotion but there were so many tears when reading this! I will always be a huge fan of Andrea and everything she write!

Let me start by saying ALL THE FEELS.

When I read “Promise Her”, I liked what I saw of Grant Ellison. He was quiet and charming, but also a dependable character. And then having him get his own book just made me so giddy. And then I read it and lordy, I was not prepared for how good it would be.

Grant and Dakota meet through their friends Scarlett and Taylor in what seems to be an innocent connection of two people. Dakota can help Grant find a house since he wants to move to Lexington and Grant can make a new friend along the way. For Grant, this is great, because he’s instantly drawn to the gorgeous woman, but for Dakota, it’s a whole other ballgame. With two young children and the memory of her late husband lingering, she’s not entirely sure she’s ready for something just yet. But Grant is willing to wait, for however long it takes for Dakota to be ready.

Dakota is an incredible mother and she’s such a strong woman, doing her job, living her life and everything. And Grant is the sexiest silver fox I have ever read and I fell in love with him almost as soon as Dakota did.

There were so many emotions through this book - smiles, giggles, tears and gasps and everything in between. It’s one of those books that just knocks you out right from the start and you hold on so you don’t miss even a single minute of everything. I can’t wait for more people to start soaking up this book and this incredible author, because I am a fan for life now!
