this book is basically telling me that sometimes a white lie is acceptable and also needed. a little white lie will never hurt anybody, especially yourself ...

Overall, I liked this less than [b:Cruelty|30141183|Cruelty|Roald Dahl|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1471276915s/30141183.jpg|50575101] and [b:Madness|30141182|Madness|Roald Dahl|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1471279594s/30141182.jpg|50575100] (which is my favorite out of the 3). I'm not sure if it's because of the subject matter of deception (I don't much care about card tricks or bets, only a small percentage of the stories deal with these topics though) or because some of the twists weren't as satisfying as other Dahl stories. Nevertheless, I still immensely enjoyed the reading process because Dahl's prose is so simple, yet vivid and descriptive. My favorite stories were the 3 last ones: Lamb to the Slaughter (I'm sure you've all heard of this famous murder weapon), Mr Botibol (so heart-warming and such a saucy ending), and Man from the South (this turned creepy fast!).
