He calls her Tinks.

From the beginning.

If grumpy Maddox Lancaster giving Georgia, his sunshiny PA, the nickname Tinks (as in Tinkerbell) isn’t enough to have you swooning and running to read this book I am not sure what is.

They are complete opposites – he’s grumpy and intimidating, she’s friendly, has a tonne of spunk and is fun. He’s distant with his family, she’s immersed in a loving family… yet they work so perfectly together. Watching these two dance around each other when Georgia started working for Maddox was so much fun; I loved seeing him concerned and protective of her and then being pissed with himself when he couldn’t figure out why he felt like that.
As for their Christmas fling – who were they kidding? It was much more than a fling from the first kiss.

Maddox makes quite a transformation through their story, going from serious and grumpy to dotting and romantic; the journey he takes is well paced and natural. Georgia’s happy and loving nature helps heal a lot of the wounds that he carries. “For the way she’d breathed life back into me.”

I loved how the Reynolds family embraced Maddox and when he stumbled and made mistakes they didn’t crucify him but instead supported him. I felt that Alana Reynolds played a significant part in this story and it was very well written.
Under the Stars is a low angst and steamy addition to Laura Pavlov’s Cottonwood Cove series .
