I’ve always wanted to hear Davis’ story from her perspective, so in that sense I’m really glad I read the book. However, I found it a bit clunky and hard to follow at times. I listened to the audiobook so the narration might have been the issue. Either way, an important read.

Este libro es una maravilla. No solo narra hechos muy importantes del activismo negro, sino que además tiene una prosa fluída, sobria pero bella. Es imprescindible, de verdad.

I found this book very personally meaningful and it really brought to live a lot of things I’ve only read about in history books. I would highly recommend reading this book, it gave me new perspectives on a lot of things

This book is absolutley amazing! I love the way Angela Davis writes, not too simple but at the same time not over interlectualised and academic like some poltical authers write. It was so interesting hearing about her life, from growing up in the segregated south, to learning two new languages in under a year in order to move abroad, and being on the run from the FBI. There's so much that surprised and amazed me, I wish she would write another autobiography now so we could hear more about her incredible life.
Davis is one of the best leftist writes, from being down to earth to writing in a way that is understandable to the people, she is truly inspirational and intersctional in her work.
Would 100% recomend, as always with all of her work.
