I’ve read this before and the first time I didn’t like it as much.  This time, I see that the whole thing is a joke- pointing out that our impressions are always an incorrect but valiant effort at self importance.  And in me writing that last sentence, I’ve joined the festival of insignificance where I make a dunce of myself by not seeing the inherent absurdity of all things

What a lovely little book! Funny smart and poignant. A wonderful blend between politics and philosophy. Almost written like a play (very clever indeed). Through a satirical lens, making it difficult to put down, it delves into the most mundane themes of humanity in the most enjoyable and hilarious way. Funny characters, and a brilliantly written and thought out story. Reminds me of Wilde’s importance of being earnest. A lovely first Kundera read for me.
